Wedding Cake Terms & Conditions

All orders placed with That Cakes The Biscuit are subject to the following terms and conditions. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If there's anything you're unsure about, please get in touch.

Consultations

Your first consultation is free and can be arranged by phone, email, or through our enquiry form. If you'd like to sample our flavours beforehand, taster boxes are available to purchase separately and are not deducted from the final cost of your cake. If you'd like more than one consultation, additional sessions are available on request.

During your consultation, we'll talk through your design ideas together. Any sketches or design notes created during this process remain our property until your booking fee has been paid; once paid, the design becomes yours.

Please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements at this stage, so we can factor them in from the start.

Booking & payment

Wedding cakes start from £500 for a small three-tiered design. As every order is bespoke, the final price will depend on the style and design of your cake.

A non-refundable booking fee of £100 is required to secure your order. This fee is deducted from your final balance. The remaining balance is due one month before your event.

Cake details

Once your order details are confirmed (tier sizes, flavours, spellings of names, allergen information, delivery details), please check everything carefully and let us know of any changes as soon as possible. Your cake will be made according to these confirmed details, so it's important everything is correct before we begin.

Alterations to orders

We're happy to make changes to your design where we can. Changes requested within 4 weeks of your event date can't always be guaranteed, and may carry an additional cost depending on what's involved — we'll always talk this through with you first.

Third-party items and flowers

If you're sourcing a cake topper, stand, or fresh flowers yourself (e.g. through a florist), please check sizing and timing with us in advance to make sure everything works together on the day. We're not able to take responsibility for delays, errors, or issues with items supplied by someone other than us, and we reserve the right not to use anything we feel is unsuitable for the cake.

Cancellations

The booking fee is non-refundable. Orders cancelled within one month of the event date will be charged in full, except in exceptional circumstances, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This cancellation policy applies if your event is cancelled altogether. If your date simply changes, we'll always try to accommodate the new date instead.

Allergens

Our kitchen handles all 14 major allergens recognised under UK law, including gluten and dairy. While we take great care to avoid cross-contamination, we're unable to guarantee any product is completely free from allergens. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements when you enquire, so we can talk it through with you directly.

Delivery & collection

We offer both delivery and collection, though wedding cakes are typically delivered rather than collected, given the care needed in transport and setup.

Delivery fees are calculated individually based on your location and will be confirmed as part of your quote.

We take great care to ensure your cake arrives safely, but once a cake has been delivered or collected, we're unable to accept responsibility for any damage caused afterward.

Publication & marketing

We love sharing our work! We reserve the right to use photos of your cake in our own marketing, social media, and website after your event, unless you let us know in advance that you'd prefer we didn't.

Recreating other designs

If you'd like us to recreate a design you've seen elsewhere, we prefer not to copy another baker's work directly. Instead, we'll use it as inspiration to create something unique to you.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with your order, please get in touch within 48 hours of collection or delivery, including photos where possible, so we can look into it. Every situation is different, so we'll assess each complaint individually and work with you to find a fair resolution.
